Murphy Library is going to the circus

Posted on: October 3, 2018

Memories of going to the circus every year when you were a kid will come flooding back after watching the next movie at the Murphy Library. Hugh Jackman stars as a poor, orphaned boy who has a different way of looking at the world and lots of imagination. Slowly he learns how to put the characters he meets on the street up on stage for the world to get to know.

The library is showing The Greatest Showman, the 2017 biographical musical about P. T. Barnum and the beginning of his circus this Thursday at 6 p.m.   Running time is 105 minutes and the film is rated PG. It won a Golden Globe for Best Song: “This is me,” written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.   They created the music for La La Land. So be prepared because you might want to get up and dance.
