WWII film shows the valor and courage of Great Britain

Posted on: September 10, 2018

At the beginning of World War II, as German forces are moving through western Europe, soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire and France are desperately needing evacuation in the French port city where 400,000 of them wait. But this seems impossible to pull off.

This Thursday at 6 p.m., the Murphy Library is showing Dunkirk, a 2017 WWII movie about the British forces on the sea, in the air and on the ground. Running time is 106 minutes and the film is rated PG-13 for intense war experience.

The British called it “Operation Dynamo” and ultimately it showed the strength and perseverance of the British, which neither they nor the world has ever forgotten.
