Punk rock band plays in film at library

Posted on: November 12, 2016

The next movie at the Murphy Library is about an acrobatic punk rock band called Peelander-z. It starts going through trying times when its lead guitarist wants to quit.

The library is showing Mad Tiger, a Film Movement documentary with drama and comedy this Thursday at 6 p.m. Running time is 82 minutes. The film is not rated but due to language would not be suitable for young people.

The band is based in New York City with Japanese players who realized that a punk band can make people laugh, even if the music isn’t the best on the block. Each member takes the name of a color, the leader is Yellow and his best friend, the lead guitar player, is Red. When Red leaves what will happen to their friendship, and to the future of the band?
