Teachers make a difference in the lives of their students. However it is not that they are doing things for the children, instead they help students learn to do things for themselves. A teacher is very important in the next movie at the Murphy Library, and so is a librarian.

This Thursday at 6:00 p.m. the Murphy Library is showing Matilda, a 1996 film based on a book by Roald Dahl about very smart little girl. The film is rated PG and running time is 102 minutes.

Her parents have no interest in her brain. They only encourage her not to do anything but watch television. Nevertheless, she teaches herself to read and discovers a whole new world. When she finds her way to her local library at the age of four, she goes there every day. Then the kindly librarian informs the little girl about library cards. She is thrilled.

This is a fun movie if you’re a kid. And it’s also perfect for adults. Call the library at 837-2417.
