Film about Dutch children during WWII at library this Thursday, May 26

The year is 1943 and the German army is taking over the Netherlands. Two boys in a small village are best friends, even though one boy’s parents side with the Nazis and the other’s help the resistance.

The Murphy Library is showing a Film Movement drama from the Netherlands, Secrets of War, this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Running time is 95 minutes. In Dutch with subtitles in English. The film is not rated but may be appropriate for high school students.

One day a girl moves to the village to stay with relatives and befriends the boys. The three are good friends until one day the girl tells only one boy a secret he must not share with anyone else.

Filmed in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.  Call the library at 837-2417.
