This Thursday, December 17, at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., the Murphy Library is showing a Christmas movie about a boy who is at that age when he questions whether Santa Claus really exists. It takes a train ride to the North Pole to find the answer. And as the train moves along, the boy finds out more about himself as well. It’s the Polar Express!

The film is rated G and running time is 100 minutes. Tom Hanks stars in several roles.

Writer Chris Van Allsburg wrote the book. He studied art and sculpture in college and as the years went on he spent time drawing pictures. Then he was asked to write the story for a children’s book along with the pictures. Eighteen books and numerous awards later, he is still going strong.

Call the library at 837-2417.
