After watching Robert Redford walk the Appalachian Trail, you may want to see the Murphy Library’s hiking movie. This one takes place in the French Alps.

The library is showing the Film Movement selection, If You Don’t, I Will this Thursday, September 17 at 6 p.m. Running time is 102 minutes and the film is in French with subtitles in English. It is not suitable for children. Read more and see trailer.

Pomme (Emmanuelle Devos) and Pierre (Mathieu Amalric) have been together a long time but their zest for living together is very low. Still they continue their hikes in the mountains until one day, totally frustrated Pomme tells Pierre she wants to finish the hike by herself. While she struggles with where to sleep and what to eat, Pierre is home worrying about her safety and wondering about his life.

Director Sophie Fillières shot the film in the beautiful Rhône-Alpes region of France. Mathieu Amalric may look familiar. He recently starred in The Grand Budapest Hotel. Call 837-2417.
