This Thursday, May 28 at 6 p.m., the Murphy Library is showing Film Movement’s crime drama from Chile, To Kill a Man, about a family terrorized by a local bully. For adults only. Running time 82 minutes. In Spanish with subtitles in English.

This Thursday at 6 p.m. the Murphy Library is showing Clueless a film based on Jane Austin’s novel, Emma, and brought into the 20th century. Teachers, lawyers, teen hairdos, and more will lighten up your day. Rated PG-13. Running time is 97 minutes.

Do you like baseball? The Murphy Library is showing Million Dollar Arm, a baseball movie on Thursday filled with fastballs, curves, and a lot of growing up. The library is showing this 2014 film starring Jon Hamm this Thursday at 6 p.m. Running time is 124 minutes and the film is rated PG.

JB Bernstein is a sports agent who needs to find new young pitchers so he can pitch them to Major League Baseball teams. He is out of prospects until he sees an Indian cricket game on television. He visits India and finds two potential players. But in the U.S. they are strangers in, what is to them, a strange land. Can JB find it in himself to help them through the tough times?

When Billy Crystal has a supporting role in a film and it requires special effects make up, you know you are in for a fun ride. His co-star Andre the Giant requires minimal make up since he is his own special effect.

The Murphy Library is showing, The Princess Bridge, a 1987 family-adventure comedy this Thursday, April 7, at 6:00 p.m. that begins with a grandfather (Peter Falk) reading his grandson a story. Events move fast after that since the book has a thief, a pirate, sword fighting and – ta-da! – a princess.
