Drama depicts life in Lyon, France after World War II

Posted on: February 23, 2015

A French filmmaker discovers the details of her parents’ life through the papers they leave behind when they pass away. Their escape from the Nazis and early life in Lyon are part of the story. Another is the arrival of her father’s brother who everyone thought had been killed in the war. Why didn’t anyone ever talk about him?

The Murphy Library is showing the Film Movement drama For a Woman about French survivors of World War II filmed in the Rhone-Alpes region of France. The library will screen the film Thursday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. in French with subtitles in English.

Running time is 110 minutes and the film is suitable for adults and mature high school students. Call the library at 837-2417.
