French comedy and love story at library

Posted on: February 16, 2015

What are you in the mood to watch after Valentine’s Day? A French comedy and love story? Maybe it has a leading actor who looks a lot like Johnny Depp. And don’t forget the beautiful French countryside.

Voila! The Murphy Library is offering Moliere, this Thursday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Running time is 120 minutes and it is rated PG-13. In French with subtitles in English.

French playwright Moliere is sulking in prison for not paying the debts of his actors’ group who travel the country putting on his plays. One day a wealthy gentleman helps free him. All he wants in return are acting lessons to help him impress a certain lady. The man is already married and Moliere is staying in his chateau, so he must pose as a priest, “Father Tartuffe.” But then, he does get some great tips on writing.

Call the library at 837-2417 for details.
