It is in French with English subtitles. Screenings are at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.  Running time is 84 minutes.

Adele is down and out.  Her boyfriend has just dumped her and she’s lost her zest for anything.  Out of desperation a friend forces Adele to visit her distant cousin Rachel who in turn comes up with a plan to boost Adele’s spirits.  First, she gets Adele a job.  Then, she takes the bull by the horns, so to speak, and suggests Adele get involved with a few new guys to get over the one who got away.

The only problem for Adele, as she meets new men, is that she sees her ex-boyfriend in each one of them.

French director Valerie Donzelli  studied architecture and then began a successful acting career for various French directors, including the wonderful Agnes Varda.  Then Donzelli directed a short film and followed that with Queen of Hearts, her first feature film.  Her latest film, Declaration of War, was selected for France’s entry in the Oscar’s Best Foreign Language Film category.

In Queen of Hearts, Donzelli not only directs but plays the title role.  And the actor Jérémie Elkaïm who plays the ex-beau?  Well, look closely at the new boyfriends, Elkaim plays them too.
