A young girl full of energy moves to a new town, an old house and a neighborhood full of characters, including a mangy cat.  Her parents are writers and what they want is peace and quiet.  She, however, is a kid – she wants attention.

The Murphy Library is showing the animated film “Coraline” Thursday at 3:15 p.m. and again at 6 p.m.  It is rated PG and runs 100 minutes.

Just like Alice in Wonderland,  Coraline discovers a small door in a wall of the old house, and thinks she has found a better life on the other side.  The people look like her parents, only they’re much nicer.  Of course it is odd they have buttons for eyes.

And like all fairytale families, hidden secrets come out and the news is not good.  After a while, all Coraline wants to do is get back home.  Call 837-2417.
