 Do you know any art collectors? Here is a fun weekend event.  The Murphy Library is auctioning local crafts, furniture and these African and Haitian art items on August 8 at Bob Grove Auctions, 7540 Highway 64 in Brasstown, NC, midway between Murphy and Hayesville. Phone (828) 837-9200. The Silent Auction begins at 5:30 p.m. The Live Auction starts at 7 p.m.  Library’s phone is 828-837-2417.  Friends of Murphy Library are legendary for their cooking!  Keep scrolling down to see more auction items or hit ” Auction”  listed under Categories on the right.






Nantahala Regional children’s librarian Sarah Arnaudin has a way with children and during Storytime at the Murphy Library on July 13, everyone was having fun.  Besides reading a story, each of the kids made a mask.  Paint jars popped open, feathers started flying and here are the results:


These masks will be at our Auction on August 8 at Grove Auctions, 7540 Highway 64, Brasstown, NC 28902, between Murphy, NC and Hayesville, NC.  Silent Auction begins at 5:30 p.m., Live at 7  p.m.  Call 828-837-9200.

Among the many African treasures donated by Faye and Bob Strang to the Murphy Library’s August 8 auction are two Masai  masks from Kenya. 


Keep checking this blog to see other items at the auction.  It is scheduled for August 8 at Grove Auctions on U. S. 64 East Alternate, two miles east of the Murphy Medical Center.  The Silent Auction starts at 5: 30 p.m., the Live Auction at 7.  Free admission and wonderful refreshments.  Call 837-2417.
