Good stories don’t have to be made up. It’s all in the telling. Think of your favorite uncle telling a funny family story. Director Barry Levinson knows this. He was remembering chronicles of his youth when he made his film Avalon about his extended family in 1950’s Baltimore. His memories give the film heart and feeling.
The Murphy Library is showing Avalon, starring Aiden Quinn and a young Elijah Wood, at 3:15 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 4. This family-friendly film is rated PG and runs 126 minutes.
