In a quaint English village an eighty-three year old man and his wife are getting ready for a car trip to Germany. It’s not an ordinary sightseeing visit rather it’s one of contrition. The man had bombed a German village during World War II and wants to apologize to its inhabitants. When their son comes by to see them off, he realizes they need more than a wave good-bye. And so, for better or worse, he accompanies them.
The Murphy Library is showing the funny and wistful road trip movie, “Bomber,” Thursday at 3:15 p.m. and 6 p.m. It is Film Movement’s latest comedy/drama and is for anyone who has woken up from this nightmare: your parents go to a marriage counselor and the counselor is…you!
Running time is 85 minutes. Film Movement allows the library to advertise and show their films once before they go into circulation. Call 837-2417 for details.

Friends of Murphy Library are creating several gift baskets for their August 8 auction at Grove Auctions. Local gift basket specialist, Jane Hensley is putting the finishing touches on them.
Basket themes include wine, champagne, soaps and lotions, chocolate, golf, make-a-chef-smile, pets, movies, babies, pasta, and tools. ( Don’t worry, they’re not all in the same basket.)
If you want to contribute something for this particular project, please bring items to the library by July 3 and as always, thank you for your contributions.
